With the growing concerns of government institutions and individual citizens about the climate and environmental crisis, sustainability has become one of the hot topics of the moment. However, not everything that is advertised as sustainable really is sustainable, and unethical practices, exhausting work rates and overproduction still lurk behind the 'recycled plastic' or 'organic cotton' labels that draw the consumers' attention.
Nosetta's mission is to offer a refined, functional and, above all, long lasting product. Our socio-environmental responsibility is displayed in the production and the choice of raw materials. Our motto is "quality, not quantity", in fact our collections last all year round, we produce in small quantities and we do not stimulate unbridled purchases.
Each of our items is produced by expert Italian artisans, with a very short supply chain (between Tuscany and Lombardy). The choice of materials from Como is not just a matter of passion, in fact we carefully select the artisans to collaborate with to promote a centuries-old tradition of silks, satins and local fabrics.
Our suppliers also pay special attention so that their production is not harmful to the territory that hosts them: they rely on photovoltaic systems thanks to which they significantly reduce CO2 emissions, they have water and solvent recovery systems, which limit dispersion into the environment, and they have obtained certifications that attest the compliance with the REACH regulation of the European Union.
All production processes are inspired by the circular economy philosophy, with the aim of minimizing and recovering production waste as much as possible.
The leathers are exclusively vegetable tanned, i.e. treated with tree and plant tannins and not with heavy metals. For this reason they are ecological, well tolerated during use and can be disposed of without any risk for the environment.
The company Nosetta has decided to entrust, Tempesti S.p.A, has obtained the "gold" Certification of the Leather Working Group organization for the traceability rates of raw materials.
Ours is a small but real contribution.
