Carnival has arrived, an ancient feast that invites us to indulge in a last banquet before Lent.
If this time we cannot celebrate like in the past with happy parties and joyous crowds, nothing prevents us from having fun and spoiling ourselves a little.
Here are our tips, rigorously Made in Como, for a more light-hearted, lively and non-trivial Shrove Tuesday.

  1. A Designer Poster

From the Archivio Storico Pubblicitario of Paola Mazza, one of the Biggest Italian gallerists of advertising posters, we always find inspiration. We are struck by the elegance and charm of these figures from another century.

  1.   A Classical Dessert

A plate of freshly baked “Chiacchiere” from @pasticcerialavecchiacomo.

The master pastry chef Massimo Turolla sweeten our tables with the taste of traditional local pastry with the best natural ingredients.Quality. We like it.

  1. An Unconventional Drink

Fresco Cocktail Shophas been the reference Cocktail bar in Como for over ten years, having brought mixology to the city.

Andrea Attanasio always wants to match the time of the year with a “slow drink” of the highest quality and creativity. He is teasing us with the "coriander", a festive element but also aromatic herb for this cocktail.

  • Gin sour distilled with coriander
  • Gin "Eugin Independent Distillery of Meda" @eugindistilleria
  • Fresh lemon
  • Sugar and albumen
  • Fresh coriander… double ration to eliminate toxins, enhance spiciness… as well as the recurrence!

    1. A Stimulating Book

Our friend @robertabellesini provokes us on our "customes" with "Speech over the present state of Italian customs" by Giacomo Leopardi, Edition by Giavanni Guarracino of @lanavediteseo @elisabetta.sgarbi

A very current portrait draws a familiar and recognizable profile of our country, which "we have the responsibility to continue to trace not to preserve a past that does not pass away but to take seriously the difficult and eternal task of planning modernity with civilization" .

Considerations that, almost two centuries later, make Giacomo our contemporary.

    1. A Thrilling Music

A Masked Ballby Giuseppe Verdi in Maria Callas version.

An exciting and "cinematic" story full of intrigues, betrayals and impossible loves that ends with a Masked Ball. This recommendation comes from our friend @biancatognocchi, a young soprano from Como, graduated at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and now in the limelight on international theaters such as Oper Frankfurt, Leipzig, Spoleto,..

    1. An Exciting Movie

The Great Gatsby of 1974, directed by Jack Clayton is the third film adaptation of the 1925 novel of the same name by Francis Scott Fitzgerald.

The movie is set in the 1920s but still relevant for its reflection on the power of money and the consequences of life. The interpretation of actors such as Robert Redford and Mia Farrow is fabolous but the latest Hollywood version by Baz Luhrmann, starring Di Caprio and Carey Mulligan is an excellent alternative @thegreatgatsbyny

We can finally announce Nosetta's collaboration with Lake Como Design Festival, which led to the creation of a brand new limited edition clutch bag.

This year's theme is neo-nomadism, that's why we decided to make a clutch bag, an accessory for a modern "unstable" traveller, created to contain the essential elements of their world, both physical and digital.

The textile activity of the territory of Como has a thousand-years history. Numerous archaeological finds, such as fragments of fabric, loom tools and rock carvings, show that the art of weaving in Como has developed since prehistoric times.
