In Como, Nosetta found Laura, a passionate advocate for holistic well-being through yoga. For Laura, this practise is more than a routine; it's a way of life. It offers more than physical benefits, it'sa sanctuary for mental clarity and inner peace. “Yoga and its principles were subtly present as I grew up but when I found the practice of yoga in my twenties, it felt like reconnecting with a long lost friend. As I dove deeper into Yoga, I had the urge to share the benefits with others.”

After receiving her training certification in the USA in Washington, DC, she continued to practise while travelling around the world because of her husband's work.

Surrounded by the lush beauty of Lake Como, she guides others on their wellness journeys in her studio. “I find an immediate sense of peace the second I step onto my mat, regardless if I'm teaching or practicing. It gives me the space to dive deep into myself and brings me so much strength and joy. Teaching multiplies this feeling as I see the transformation in my students. It 'fills me cup' to see my clients find peace within themselves and to see them do yoga poses they never thought possible. The communities that I have found through yoga have made our journey living abroad so much easier and much more fulfilling. Friends become yoga students and yoga students become friends.”

Laura suggests to explore these 10 guidelines for cultivating added freedom, serenity, and joy in daily life, inspired by the spirit of "la dolce vita" mixed with the core values of yoga.

  • Carve out moments of tranquility, maybe while savoring a cup of coffee or tea and embracing stillness and quiet.
  • Practice gratitude and foster a positive perspective throughout the day, appreciating all that you have.
  • Engage in non-judgmental practice, valuing diverse methods and perspectives in various tasks and situations.
  • Embark on a gradual meditation journey, starting with 5 minutes daily and progressing to 20 or 30 minutes through books, classes, or online sessions.
  • Embrace forgiveness for empowerment, granting strength, inner peace, and healing, releasing grudges hindering personal growth.
  • Incorporate mindful breathing, experimenting with techniques during various situations for a calming effect.
  • Include daily movement and exercise, discovering suitable yoga or movement classes, or a 5-10 minute home practice.
  • Spend time outdoors, whether strolling in the park, hiking in the woods, or enjoying serenity by the water—connect with nature.
  • Infuse mindfulness into daily life, cultivating awareness in thoughts, speech, and actions.
  • Prioritize joy-inducing activities, realizing the impact of a simple smile or hearty laugh in navigating emotions and returning to a realm of peace and happiness.
